PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian firm said to be facing US sanctions for allegedly supplying components to Russia's military is not a semiconductor manufacturer but a trading company, the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry has clarified.
"Based on records, Jatronics is not registered under STA and has not applied for export permits," it said.The ministry also said Malaysia adhered to multilateral sanctions and the restricted or prohibited end-user list under the UN Security Council Resolutions .The statement came Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan said on Tuesday that Jatronics is a trading company, not a semiconductor producer.
