Check out the companies making headlines in after-hours trading: Tesla — The electric vehicle maker climbed 6.9% despite earnings coming in weaker than analysts forecast for the first quarter. Tesla posted 45 cents in adjusted earnings per share on $21.3 billion in revenue, while analysts surveyed by LSEG anticipated 51 cents in earnings per share and $22.15 billion in revenue. The report comes as Tesla grapples with the effects of ongoing price cuts on its finances.

Texas Instruments posted $1.20 per share on $3.66 billion in revenue, beating analysts' expectations of $1.07 and $3.61 billion, respectively, per LSEG. The company also offered ranges for current-quarter performance that included consensus forecasts from analysts. Visa — The financial services stock advanced 3.2% on the heels of better-than-expected earnings. Visa saw $2.51 per share, excluding items, on $8.78 billion in revenue.
