A card vendor shows his collectible wares to a child at the Northeast Sports Card Expo. This is an excerpt from WBUR's Saturday morning newsletter, The Weekender. If you like what you read and want it in your inbox,
I spoke with Tom and Steve, two-thirds of the team behind the convention, to learn more about what curiosities visitors can expect to see at the Northeast Sports Card Expo this weekend, whether you’re new to the collecting game or have more cards that you can count. They also passed along a few tips for seasoned card collectors, too.
It all depends on the card itself and what you’re looking for. Some people like numbered cards and some people like autographed cards. But those are probably some of the more popular ones now.I hope not. I’m sure there’s going to be some type of digital cards that will be out there for sure. But as a collector myself, I’d like to hold the item and I’d like to look at the item, whatever it may be. I think that’s the most enjoyable part of the hobby.
