Trading Standards have issued an urgent recall just days before Halloween

An urgent recall of children's Halloween masks sold at a popular discount retailer has been ordered as they present a risk of burns. Haunted House Dracula, Pumpkin and Frankenstein children's masks, sold by The Works have been recalled by Trading Standards.

The three masks present a risk of burns as they pose a flammability risk if exposed to a naked flame. The warning reads: "The products present a risk of burns as it has been identified that they pose a flammability risk if exposed to a naked flame. "The products do not meet the requirements of the Toys Regulations 2011." The Works said there have been no reports of incidents or injuries.The Works said: "Please stop using the product immediately and keep out of reach of children. You can return the product to any of The Works stores for a full refund.

"You will not need a receipt when returning product. The safety of our customers is very important to us.The pumpkin mask is orange, Dracula mask blue and the Frankenstein mask is green. It comes after urgent recall notices were issued for popular Halloween costumes that pose a 'serious risk' to children. The Office for Product Safety and Standards issued recalls on three Amazon outfits that were on sale in the run up to October 31.
