North Melbourne has reportedly put four of their first round picks on the table in a bid to snare the prized pick 1 away from West Coast. It was reported the Roos offered up picks “15, 18, 21 and an end of first-round pick next year or 15, 21 and two end of first-round picks next year” in an effort to nab the first choice in the 2023 AFL Draft.“Fair to say West Coast Eagles fans would riot if this were to be accepted – which it won’t be,” he posted on social media.
AFL great Brad Johnson said he believes the Roos are doing the right thing going after pick one – to secure Harley Reid. “Then they use, whether it’s another first rounder, a couple of futures, however they want to use it.“There’s talk that they are after Gold Coast’s pick 11 – whether they can do something there first.
There’s already rumours the Eagles might not take Reid at pick 1, amid fears of the go-home factor for the young Victorian.
