“None of this was necessary,' said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams of the charges against the billionaire Tottenham owner. 'Joe Lewis is a wealthy man.”

Lewis ceased to be a person with significant control of Tottenham Hotspur Limited in October 2022. The owner of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club currently is ENIC Sports Inc., with majority control held by a family discretionary trust of which Lewis is not a beneficiary.
