- Alternative asset management firm Valkyrie has become the latest firm to re-file its application for a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission after the regulator said the initial documents were inadequate.
The filing shows that Nasdaq and Coinbase came to an agreement on June 30 that would give Nasdaq “supplemental access to data regarding spot Bitcoin trades occurring on Coinbase if it is determined to be necessary as part of its surveillance program for the Commodity-Based Trust Shares.” According to the filing, the investment objective of the Trust is for its shares “to reflect the performance of the value of a Bitcoin as represented by the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate - New York Variant , less the Trust’s liabilities and expenses.”
