Bitcoin has fallen sharply over the last year as the Federal Reserve hikes interest rates in an effort to drive down soaring inflation. The recent bitcoin price rally has been attributed at least in part to rising expectations the Fed is poised to pivot from its program of rate hikes. The latest inflation data showed prices dipped in the U.S. in December, the first fall since May 2020.
