According to Japanese outlet Asahi, Taisuke Sasaki and Yuji Naka are reportedly suspected of using insider knowledge to have bought shares in developer Ateam before it was publicly announced that the studio would be working on Final Fantasy VII mobile spin-off, The First Soldier.

Former Square Enix employees reportedly rearrested concerning second suspected instance of insider tradingthat the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor's Special Investigation Department and Square Enix have announced that Sasaki and Naka were rearrested this week on suspicion of violating the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act in 2021.
