Osun State Government has announced a ban on the display of wares on roads across the state, with a warning that anyone caught displaying wares on the road would be prosecuted.

“This team will pay unscheduled visits to the markets and arrest those obstructing traffic with their wares. The team will work with the Federal Road Safety Corps and other law enforcement agencies to ensure safety in our markets.

“The state can no longer fold its arms while some traders in our markets, especially weekly markets take over the motorways and pedestrian walkways with their wares. The ugly and unsafe trend must stop. “The government has immediately set up a Special Task Force that will ensure compliance with safe-conducts in our markets and ensure the safety of road users. It is therefore calling on all traders and their patrons to comply with this directive as the Task Force team will operate without prior notice and those arrested will be prosecuted swiftly.”

How would i taste akara osu at oduduwa junction😭😭

Is this not what we've been telling LA to do they turned deaf ears

Empty ban. A government that has no will to enforce anything call law. What happened to anti open grazing? No enforcement. A government that allow our rivers to be polluted and did nothing. A government that could not punish those that mined and destroyed our dams.

As if 'roadside trading' is the problem of the state!😢 When the govt at any level tend to discourage 'legitimate' hustle, they make illegitimate ones inevitable! We should think.

Igba yi laaro
